I spent most of my career in the fashion industry and it has taken me across the country…twice. From Dallas/Fort Worth, to Seattle, to Florida, to New York City, to San Francisco and finally back to Dallas/Fort Worth. I love the experiences I have had and the people I have met. Throughout my career, training, coaching and mentoring has been a big part of every roll. Whether it was mentoring a junior level technical designer, being a Subject Matter Expert, or creating and facilitating training programs for company-wide initiatives. And most recently, I have started my next adventure at Pier 1 Imports as a Training Partner.
I joined the national ATD organization in 2016 when I was in Northern California and was impressed with the articles, books and webinars available. After I moved back to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I attended an ATD Conference in March of 2018 in Dallas. I met the most welcoming and fun group of people from the ATD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter. I registered for the April meeting and joined that same night. The meal was fantastic, and members were incredibly friendly. The chapter presentations have been fun and sometimes hilarious.
If you are thinking about joining ATD but you’re not sure, feel free to reach out to me or any of the volunteers or board members. I HIGHLY recommend joining a local chapter not only to enrich your professional development but to also meet some great people in the industry.
