Instructional Designer/Trainer

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering instructional content over multiple platforms (face-to-face, e-learning, webinars, etc.) to support our program team, support staff, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and highly organized and will possess excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify gaps and develop targeted training
  • Design online and instructor-led courses and training events
  • Prepare facilitation and participant materials (course workbooks, performance support tools)
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities, including with Subject Matter Experts
  • Develop learner performance assessments to ensure measurable impact or change in behavior
  • Conduct in-person and virtual training
  • Position will include occasional travel to field locations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required); degree in Instructional Design, Communication, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Experience working with online learning and conferencing platforms and tools, including Articulate RISE and Microsoft TEAMS
  • Experience designing and developing in-person, virtual, and hybrid training and development solutions in a corporate or nonprofit environment
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • LMS administration experience (preferred)

About Academy 4

Academy 4 is a nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas. We equip communities and churches to build relationships with schools and families. Our flagship program, Academy 4, provides a leadership mentoring program for 4th-grade students in the economically disadvantaged schools we serve.  Once a month, students experience a caring relationship with a trustworthy adult while learning practical leadership skills to use now, throughout their school years, and beyond.
