The Power of Coaching Conversations
Thursday, April 5, 2018

Speaker: Jessica Johnson, Director of People & Culture, UNTHSC

Program Summary:

Coaching is a transformative growth and development tool. This workshop will provide ATD members with a three-step methodology for coaching conversations.  Attendees will learn how to use inquiry to help others set and achieve meaningful goals.   This process, aligned with the International Coach Federation’s core competencies, can assist talent development professionals as they nurture talent within their own teams and as they support leaders throughout the organization.

About Jessica:

Jessie leads the UNTHSC internal coaching and leadership programs. She designs tailored leadership learning experiences for faculty and staff at all levels of the organization. Jessie oversees the internal coaching program based on the principle of using coaching as a leadership style. Jessie developed a three---step coaching methodology based on the eleven core coaching competencies of the
International Coach Federation. Jessie leads and trains a professional group of coaching champions who work with supervisors at all levels of faculty and staff within the organization to ensure each team member has an active, credible coach. Each coach partners with internal coaching clients to establish and attain challenging performance and personal goals. The
partnership includes both formal and informal “in---the--- moment” coaching sessions. Jessie’s experiences include leading a variety of cross---functional teams on organizational change efforts as well as coordinating programs for UNTHSC faculty, staff and students. She has a passion for inspiring growth and development in others and equipping leaders with tools to effectively coach and lead their teams. A former teacher, she utilizes her background in education and adult learning to create leadership and coaching programs designed to meet the needs of team members. Her doctoral research uniquely prepares her to partner with stakeholders to increase organizational effectiveness by understanding the impact of gender equity.
