Empathy and Communication with 2nd Language Employees and Multilingual Teams

Thursday, October 4, 2018

Speaker: Micah Bellieu, CEO and Founder of Fluency
Program Summary: Learn 4 simple, immediately-applicable ways to better communicate with your employees using their 2nd language at work: which words are best to use, and which words go over heads. You will also leave with an understanding of what it feels like to work in your second language (without having to learn a whole new language!).

About Micah:

Micah Bellieu had taken over 2000 hours of Spanish when she took a job in Mexico. When she arrived, she was shocked! She couldn't understand anyone.

Then she realized that her past teachers had a goal that she didn't have; they were teaching her to pass a written test or write a dissertation. She wanted to be fluent speaking!

So, she founded Fluency Corp and defined The Bellieu Method - a speaking-focused method that is based on the interests, job and needs of each individual employee. The core values are interesting, fun and relevant classes.

The Fluency Corp team works with global, multilingual corporations, giving true fluency to the employees, so they can do their jobs and live their lives with confidence in their second language. They needed to be strong communicators when negotiating, collaborating and bonding with their new community. Clients include Hitachi, Amazon, Samsung and American Airlines.

Fluency Corp has hundreds of instructors globally, giving fluency in English, Spanish, Japanese and more language. And Micah can now say she SPEAKS Spanish, French and pretty good Japanese (still in progress).
