Performance Improvement: A Culture of Leadership

Lieutenant Amy Ladd, M.B.A
Fort Worth Police Department

Amy will share insight into how the Fort Worth Police Department has changed their training platform to include performance improvement through leadership development and how this change has affected the culture of leadership.

  • Personal Leadership
  • Feedback analysis
  • Agile Learning
  • Executive Mentoring

Also why the police department is turning more to integrated community partnerships to reduce crime and solve long term community issues and how this benefits the community.

About our Speaker

Amy is an innovator with a passion for exploring new ways for law enforcement to holistically serve the community outside of traditional enforcement. As a 23 year veteran of the Fort Worth Police Department, assigned to Special Projects for the Patrol Bureau, she has focused on rethinking the Police Department's response to homelessness while building relationships with community partners and non-profit service providers. These relationships help to uncover ways for law enforcement to bridge gaps and work together with the community to find alternative solutions to helping our most vulnerable population. Under her leadership, the Fort Worth Police Department has created a police response unit called H.O.P.E. Homeless Outreach Program Enforcement.

Amy also created the Lateral Academy for the Fort Worth Police Department so that it could recruit tenured officers from outside agencies. She is responsible for developing the Agile Leader program for supervisors, which is a personal development program designed to help early leaders identify blind spots in their leadership style and work to improve on them while exploring learning agility and its effectiveness when leading to a VUCA world.
