Your Brain on Change: How Neuroscience and Candor can Improve a Project's ROI

Lisa Bevington, Psy.D. Prosci Certified Practitioner & Trainer

Change is hard, but science and a healthy dose of candor can offer significant help.

We will discuss what can fundamentally make change so challenging for us as individuals and our organizations. We will also explore the value of psychological safety in managing resistance during a change initiative. Large studies in the field of psychology and job performance have shown that when psychological safety is created, we are more inclined to take risks. Participants will learn how to proactively create a space for the inevitable pushback that comes when we ask others to deviate from the safety of the status quo.

  1. Participants will be able to articulate at least three truths about the brain that are impacted by change.

  2. Participants will understand the value of psychological safety and its impact on resistance during times of change

  3. Participants will be able to identify at least three ways to successfully support themselves and others during times of change
